Kansas City-based Plug-In was founded in February 2007 and has three employees, founder and CEO Kurt Neutgens said Tuesday. The company now is a wholly owned subsidiary of Classic Costume.

Plug-In is a specialty automotive technology company that provides a zero-emission, all-electric vehicle conversion. Neutgens said he is looking for 35,000 square feet for the company to occupy in the Kansas City area. He started the business in his home.

Neutgens had been an engineering manager at Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) before he started Plug-In Motors.

Classic Costume (OTCBB: CCUC), based in Springfield, Mo., also recently bought Imperial Coachworks Inc., a limousine and specialty vehicle manufacturer in Springfield.

Classic Costume said in a release that the acquisitions enable it to take advantage of after-market demand for custom vehicles and power trains.
