(OTC Bulletin Board: ELCR), a vehicle conversion Company that specializes in electric conversions and manufacturing for the Livery, Fleet and Private Specialty Markets, today announces that it has executed an Exclusive Distributor Agreement with Manufacturing Connection International, LLC. Agreement gives distributor exclusive rights to inventory, market and sell the Company’s limousines, custom vehicles, electric conversion vehicles and limo buses in the territory of The Peoples Republic of China.
Imperial Coach Builders, a wholly owned subsidiary of Electric Car Company (ICC), will manufacture all the vehicles out of its manufacturing facility located in Springfield, MO. According to the Agreement, the initial order will consist of 7 vehicles of any model selected by Manufacturing Connection International (MCLLC). Initial order will be placed within one week after obtaining certification and dealer license from the Chinese government. MCLLC has agreed to order a minimum of 5 additional vehicles per month in order to maintain exclusivity on the territory. Payment for all vehicles will be made in full before shipment from factory to China.

MCLLC has informed the Company that they are in the final stages of certification with the Chinese government and anticipates approval within 30 to 60 days. It is important to note that in order to obtain certification from China, manufacturers have to meet very stringent quality standards. The Chinese certification process is going smooth due in part to Imperial Coach Builders’ long standing Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) certification given to Imperial from Ford Motors. The QVM certification, respected worldwide, is awarded only to manufacturers adhering to the highest of quality and safety standards.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Mar 31, 2010 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) — Electric Car Company, Inc. (OTCBB:ELCR), a vehicle conversion company that specializes in electric conversions and manufacturing for the Livery and Fleet Markets, announces that the Company has utilized a training Grant from the State of Missouri to increase efficiency and lower overhead costs. Implementing “Lean Manufacturing” processes and lowering overall manufacturing costs gives the Company a competitive advantage in the market.
By utilizing the Training Grant awarded to the Company, an independent team of efficiency experts was hired to help overhaul its production process at no cost to The Electric Car Company. The goal is to drastically reduce lead-time and mistakes while improving staffing for the job by reconfiguring traditional assembly lines into productive cells based on one-piece flow.

As a result several steps were taken. The Company has been able to reduce its full time assembly force from 30 down to 19. Any additional labor will be brought in on a job-by-job basis, which also saves on excessive overtime costs. Other areas have been streamlined such as the accounting, marketing and administrative staff that have been reduced by 50%.

The Company has also taken steps to ramp up sales by reducing the salary expense of its sales personnel while increasing the commission structure. This has proven to be very effective with the evidence of the increased sales and contract work brought into the Company in the first quarter of this year.

The Company’s successful participation at the Limo Digest Show in Atlantic City, New Jersey held November 8th thru 11th, contributed $187,000.00 of the total orders that includes a pink super stretch Limousine. In a previous press release dated November 6th announcing the Company’s attendance at the Limo Digest Show, ECC committed to make a contribution to the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, (www.bcfo.org), for every pink limousine sold.
